I'm going to share something with you all that has been kept on the down low over my socials...
If you have been following me for a while, you might have known that in 2019 my partner and I packed up our lives to travel Australia & live life on the road. We travelled through the Northern Territory & over to Western Australia. We eventually hit the gold fields of WA. My partner had been researching and researching everything he could about gold prospecting for the past year or two, so we wanted to give it a try for ourselves. We were pretty successful straight away, and got insanely hooked. As the old saying goes, that "gold fever" had definitely hit us. We spent most of our trip, remote camping and putting in the hard yards gold prospecting. Let me tell you, those gold shows make it look easy, it 1000% is not! I personally think those gold shows are more of a reality tv show, and are very staged.. They portray that you can find gold very easily, that is definitely not always the case - it’s actually a much more in depth “hobby” than most people think!
By the end of the year, it started to get too hot. We decided to head home, in Far North Queensland, to work for a month on my business. With the excitement of coming home and seeing our friends & family who we hadn't seen for the past 6 months, our 1 monthly home quickly turned into us looking for a house for the next 6 months as we decided to wait the summer out until the 2020 gold season came back around.
Little did we know, 2020 and COVID was about to change everyone’s lives. It threw our plans of leaving QLD for WA in April out the door. We got stuck back here for a lot longer than we ever expected. I used the year to get stuck into building & growing Kailani. I dreamed, and changed my goals so much over the past year. All the while my partner was out in the outback of the QLD goldfields, while I was working from home in the studio creating leather...
Towards the end of 2020, I felt so unhappy, so unfulfilled and really struggling to see what was ahead for me. I was spending my life, slaving away to a business in the studio to a product that would take me many days to complete. It took me a very long time to finally admit I wasn't happy doing leatherwork anymore. I had created a limiting belief about myself, that leatherwork was what I was known for, so that was what I had to do. After doing loads of self work, journalling and talking to friends I finally was able to admit to myself what I really wanted to do was textiles, and to build a business I could work from anywhere, so I could live the dream life I have always wanted.
2021 is going to look completely different for me, and for my business. I have one week to pack up our house again, before we hit the road, except this time we aren’t just “hitting the road to travel” we are doing something we both love with a passion, gold prospecting!
We have no real plans of where we will travel to next once we are finished prospecting for the year, we are taking life day by day, and we will end up wherever we end up, enjoying the journey along the way.
I have put in action quite a massive plan over the past 6 months to set my product based business up to be able to run from anywhere win the world. It has come with so many stresses, so many hurdles and a LOT of crying but I am so damn excited that I am almost there.
I hope I inspire you, to take the chance, take the leap and do what lights you up, no matter what that is or where that is, have faith you can do it too!

My dream is to travel Australia, document all our native herbal medicines as not much is written and much is being lost I have realised being a herbalist and naturopath. So this is so imp to me and for our future generations.
Any advice you can give would be valuable
I have a 2.5yr plan though as my daughter finishes yr 12 then and I will have a 12yr in toe with me 🤞🤞taking a year off school
But it is still the dream to blog, research, write a book even and eventually sell Australian made herbal tonics and products.
Thanks for the inspiration to do what makes u feel alive …is it easy to get caught up in the daily grind esp as a single working mum with three kids sometimes I can’t see a way out of the mundane routine and financial stresses
